I don’t watch TV talent shows. Not being snobby, I just get annoyed by the number of backing dancers people seem to need. For instance, there might be one singer, and half a dozen back up dancers.
Honestly. Shirley Bassey doesn’t need an army of dancers throwing shapes around her to make an impact. She can fill a stage on her own. Full orchestra, obviously, but her voice is big enough to match up to that.
It’s the growl. Oof. I would pay money to make a sound like that.
