When a shopkeeper is murdered in his own store in the Australian wilderness, it’s up to Detective Dana Russo to interview the prime suspect.

But on the hardest day of the year for Detective Russo, and with suspect Nathan Whittler traumatised from his unspoken, painful past, a crime he may or may not have committed, and the fifteen years he’s spent away from civilisation – things could become too much for either or both before the day is out.

What a great story! The development of the relationship between the police officer and the suspect kept me on the edge of my seat, and towards the end, my heart almost stopped.

With wonderful language, incredible characters and multiple twists and turns, I can’t recommend this book highly enough. Be prepared though – it’s a darkly emotional ride.

Excellent.
