Oh, how I love Nessa from Gavin and Stacey.
As I’m sure we all remember, I’m a fool for a Welsh accent. I have nothing but admiration for any nation that can sing in close harmonies. Joking, I am.
The fact is, I adore the character of Nessa, I love the writing, I love her timing. I love her tattoo, her outfits, her stories of past lovers and near-misses.
I love the idea of using ‘Oh’ as a way of attracting anyone’s attention. Even with her laconic delivery, there is a joy to Nessa that comes from the fact that you know you could have a pint with her, learn a hell of a lot, and have a proper laugh.
